Zanzibar Serena Inn located in the legendary Stone Town of Zanzibar, the island whose very name evokes East Africa's exotic past, stands Zanzibar Serena Inn. It has joined the ranks of the world's finest resorts as a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. An extensive selection of recreation and watersport activities are available to guests. Visits to Stone Town's historical landmarks and excursions to neighboring islands and wildlife reserves are made daily.

The rooms are decorated with taste and elegance using reproduction Zanzibari furniture, rather than the genuine antiques found in many of the other Stone Town hotels. The dark wood of the furnishings is offset by the cheerful blue and yellow tones of the bedspreads and curtains.
The hotel comprises 51 rooms, including a state suite, two executive suites, six prime suites and one honeymoon suite. The prime and honeymoon suites have their own hammocks on the balcony.
Dining:
The restaurant has huge windows which open out to the Indian ocean and mainland Tanzania. Try to book one of the tables close to the window. By day you can gaze at the dhows plying the blue water and in the evenings you can watch the lanterns of the distant fishing boats dancing on the water. The restaurant service is friendly, efficient and professional.
You can dine on traditional Swahili cuisine as well as a range of international dishes in the Baharia restaurant. Lobster, crab and fish are usually on the menu, as are fresh fruit and vegetables. Zanzibars herbs and spices are used creatively to tantalise the taste buds.
The Masahari Bar offers an atmospheric place to mingle before dinner and play a game of cards. If you are after tea and cake during the day, the Mdele coffee shop has a good selection.
