Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park is the Uganda's largest national park protects a chunk of untamed African savannah bisected by the mighty river Nile. It is located in the northwest approx. ninety km from Masindi and it covering an area of 3840 sq km

Murchison Falls, hence this park, is where the world's longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below.


Wildlife: the park is home to lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and hippo and crocodile in the river Nile, also many other antelopes are everywhere on the lush savannah North of the park. In the southeast, Rabongo Forest is home to chimps and other rainforest creatures.

Birds; the rare shoebill stork and variety of water birds can be seen. The park can be visited at any time of the year.

Accommodation; There are two up-market lodges and one luxury tented camp and Camping sites. Activities; game viewing bird watching and walking to the base of the falls.
