Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Mumbai India – Dar es Salaam - Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha.
After your plan to take a holiday tour to Africa, a vote chosen Tanzania, so today take a self-organized transfer to Mumbai International Airport for a flight (ATC, Air Tanzania) departs on Saturdays at 05:50 and after 6 hours on board will first arrive in Dar es Salaam at Julius Nyerere International Airport at 09:20 in the morning, where you will meet and greet by our staff and you will be transferred to Dar es Salaam City for a City Tour and Lunch.

This is a guided tour of Dar es Salaam which, will take you to visit National Museum, Village Museum, Mwenge hand Craft Market, Tingatinga art Gallery, Slipway Shopping Centre, The Fish Market, City Centre, Historical Building and many other Sites. The name Dar es Salaam means "the house of peace" formerly Mzizima. It is an enticing mix of sightseeing, shopping and entertainment, the largest city in Tanzania reflects a fascinating blend of its rich historical past and its sophisticated contemporary present. The name was given by Sultan Majid bin Said of Zanzibar when he decided to use the harbor city as a port and trade center in between 1858 and 1862. Since then the town has flourished and is now the commercial hub of the country with high population, important economic centre and one of the fastest growing cities in Tanzania & most prominent city in arts, fashion, media, music, film, television and a leading financial centre it is also the largest and most populous Swahili-speaking city in the world.

Lunch will be served in a good restaurant in the city, later afternoon you will be transferred back to Dar es Salaam airport and continue with your flight departs at 1940hrs via Zanzibar island and will then arrive to the destination Kilimanjaro airport (JRO) at 2140hrs where you will be met again and transfer to Arusha for overnight at Mount Meru Hotel, hotel booked on bed and breakfast basis, BB. Late dinner can be arranged.


Day 2: Arusha – to - Tarangire National Park.
- In the morning at 0900hrs depart for to Tarangire National Park for lunch at lodge and an afternoon game drive in the park.

Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, herds of Elephants dwelling in savannah and acacia woodland. Home of the rare tree-climbing pythons, this park offers its best during the dry season. Due to the existence of the Tarangire River, thousands of animals make their way to this park in search of water. It is in this 2,850 sq. Km park that you are very likely to encounter Giraffe, lions, leopards, zebras, buffaloes, and wildebeest among others. And just like many parks in Tanzania, this one also has an abundant array of 550 or more bird species, setting the stage to an incredible bird watching experience. You will have dinner and overnight at Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park.
In the morning at 0800hrs after breakfast, check out from lodge and commence a morning game drives in Tarangire park, at 1100hrs leave the park and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for lunch at Serena lodge. Then at 1400hrs go for an afternoon game drives in the park.

The park is located in the Eastern Wing of Great Rift Valley with amazing landscape, it is home to Tree climbing Lions, Hippos the pool, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded, the park Lake Manyara provides opportunities for ornithologists keen on viewing and observing over 300 migratory birds, including flamingo, long-crested eagle and grey-headed kingfisher.at 5.00pm drive to the Serena lodge for dinner and overnight booked on full board basis, FB

Day 4: Manyara - Serengeti National Park:
Breakfast at your lodge, at 08.30am depart for Serengeti National Park across the Cliff of the Eastern Wing of the Great Rift Valley at Ngorongoro Conservation. OPTION visit Olduvai Gorge $ 46. Olduvai Gorge is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis (Handy man) regarded as mankind’s first step on the path of human evolution. You arrive at the lodge in time for lunch at 1300hrs at lodge. After lunch spend an hour at leisure, then at 1400hrs go for an afternoon game drive in the park before dinner and overnight at Serena safari lodge or similar booked on full board basis, FB.

The Serengeti is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Within its 15,000sq km area it hosts 3 million large mammals. More than 35 species of plain animals- zebra, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, and others are found here. And so for the big five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. The park is the staging zone for one the most spectacular events in the natural world- the annual migration of wildebeest. This commences around June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle head for the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of pasture. They are followed closely by the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The Serengeti also has over 500 species of birds. Day 5 & 6: Full day Game drives in Serengeti National Park:
Serengeti is a BIG game heaven, at 0700hrs you dedicate these tow more days to Serengeti and take a morning and an afternoon game drive. You and your guide may decide whether to go back to lodge for hot lunch or to take your packed lunch for a full day exploring the wilderness. You will have all meals and overnight in Serengeti at lodge, booked on full board basis, FB

Day 7: Serengeti – visit Maasai Ngorongoro Conservation.
- Walkup for early morning game drives in Serengeti. (Option Hot Air Balloon ride can be arranged). At 8.00am return to lodge for breakfast. At 10.00am depart for Ngorongoro Conservation and visit Maasai Village located in the conservation.

Day 8: Full day tour of Ngorongoro Crater.
After your early breakfast, at 6.30am you depart for a full day tour of the crater. The drive commences with the 600 m descent to the crater floor, a magnificent natural amphitheater. Covering 260 sq. km, the crater is an attraction in its own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world. The crater supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife. You will have no trouble spotting the BIG FIVE lion, leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and many other species of plain animals- wildebeest, zebra, reedbuck, Thompson gazelle and many more. You will have picnic lunch in the Crater, at 1500hrs ascend the Crater and drive to Manyara again for dinner and overnight at Serena Safari lodge, booked on full board basis, FB.

Day 9: Drive to Arusha – then to Foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Breakfast at your lodge, at 0800hrs check out and travel to Arusha with some stops for shopping, lunch will be served in good restaurant in Arusha. At 3.00pm drive to Machame located at the foot hills of Mount Kilimanjaro. On clear days you will see the Snow peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, but if you walk up early in the morning is a must to see it. Option visit a coffee farm, and see the processing and the testing the Aroma coffee. Dinner and overnight at Machame Aishi hotel booked on full board basis, FB.

Day 10: Depart Kilimanjaro Airport – Dar es Salaam – Arrive Mumbai.
Breakfast in your hotel, then spend morning at leisure or take a short drive to Machame gate to see the climbers registering while crew are measuring the staff ready to commence the expedition.
